Perry's Jazz Band is comprised of 18-20 musicians dedicated to performing many of the jazz standards,  as well as new jazz charts.   Performances for this group vary each year,  and generally they travel within the state to perform at state-sanctioned festivals and contests. Heavy emphasis is placed on improvisation, as well as idiomatic "big band" sounds.
