![]() | CONSTITUTIONARTICLE IARTICLE IISection 1 To arouse and maintain an enthusiastic and supporting interest in the various phases of the Instrumental Program of the Perry Local Schools, and to encourage the parents of the students participating to give these programs their firm support. To lend all possible support, both moral and financial,to the general and specific needs of the Instrumental Music Department, and to build and maintain an organization which will promote the general activities of the Instrumental Music Department. Section 2 To cooperate with those in charge of the Instrumental Music Department and the Perry Local School Board to end that this department be brought to and kept at the highest possible degree of efficiency. ARTICLE IIISection 1The Membership of this organization shall be open to all personsinterested in the progress and development of the Instrumental Music Program of Perry Local Schools. All parents of students participating in the Instrumental Department are encouraged to become active members. Voting privileges will be restricted to parents or guardians of band members. Section 2Dues shall be established annually by a majority vote of the memberspresent. Section 3Upon payment of dues, the Membership Chairperson shall issue a cardfor membership in the Perry Band Boosters for the current school year. ARTICLE IVSection 1The officers of this organization shall be: President, two VicePresident, Secretary, and Treasurer. Section 2A vacancy occurring in any office shall be filled from the remainingmembers of the executive committee. Section 3Officers will be restricted to parents or guardians of current PerryBand members. BYLAWSARTICLE ISection 1The President shall preside at all meetings of the Perry Band BoosterOrganization and its executive committee. After considering the recommendations of the elected officers, the President shall serve as an ex-officio member of all committee. The President, in consultation with the Director of Bands, Shall appoint all chairs of standing committees. Section 2The First Vice-President shall assume all the duties of the President inhis or her absence,and serve as fund raising chairperson. Section 3The Second Vice-President shall act as parliamentarian,and serve aschairperson of the Band Awards Banquet. Section 4The Secretary shall keep the records and minutes of all meetings, andattend to all correspondence, including,the newsletter. Section 5The Treasurer shall: a)Receive and disburse all funds resulting frombooster club activities,and be responsible for maintaining a booking keeping system approved yearly by the executive committee for all and each club activities; b) Submit a Monthly and year-to-date report at each executive board meeting for approval and submittal to the general membership. The report will be kept as a permanent record with each monthly minutes; c) Receive,receipt and disburse all funds. ARTICLE IISection 1The Executive Committee shall be composed of the elected officers,the Director of the Bands at Perry High School, the past president,and the chairpersons of the Concessions Committee and the Uniform Committee. Section 2The Executive Committee shall have general supervision of all affairs,including students activities sponsored by the Band Boosters. Section 3The Executive Committee shall meet prior to each monthly meeting ofthe membership to determine the business and policies to be discussed at the general membership meeting. When feasible, these meetings shall be prior to the general membership meeting. Section 4The Executive Committee will approve,monthly,the treasurer's reportbefore submitting it to the general membership. ARTICLE IIISection 1The regular meeting of this organization shall be held on the secondMonday of each calendar month beginning in September and ending in April of each school year. The annual meeting shall be the regular meeting in September. Section 2Special meetings of the organization may be called by the President,by a majority vote of the executive committee, or by the Director(s) of Instrumental Music. ARTICLE IVSection 1There shall be the following standing committees: Concessions,Chaperones, Membership, Property,Publicity, Uniforms, Telephoning, Fund Raising,Picnic and Banquet, Data Base, Fruit Sales, and Halftime Band Refreshments. Section 2The Concessions Committee shall consist of two or more member whoshall be responsible for general supervision and assigning band boosters to maintain the refreshment stands at the football and boys basketball games; also,all activites at the football stadium that require the refreshment stands to be used; and the purchase of all refreshments sold at these activites. Section 3The Chaperone Committee shall consist of one or more members andshall be responsible for securing chaperones for all bus trip taken by the band and for any special events sponsored by the Perry Band Boosters for the Members. Section 4The Membership Committee shall consist of one or more membersresponsible for the annual membership drive and receiving membership dues, issuing membership cards, and submitting dues and the members' names to the Treasurer. Section 5The Property Chairperson shall keep a detailed and accurate record,to be updated semi-annually, of properties belonging to the band boosters, and is responsible for maintenance thereof. Section 6The Publicity Chairperson shall attend to writing and mailing a monthlynewsletter for the band booster membership, all advertising and corresponding with the press, and all other matters of publicity. Section 7The Uniform Committee shall consist of two or more members whoshall be responsible for the fitting, upkeep, and repair of the band uniforms, and a complete record thereof. Section 8The Telephoning Committee shall consist of two or more members whoshall be responsible for contacting the membership concerning events necessary during the year. Section 9The Fund Raising Committee shall consist of five or more members whoare responsible for fund raising projects, other than concessions and fruit sales. This committee shall submit their plans for fund raising events to the Executive Committee for approval. Section 10The Picnic and Banquet Committee shall consist of two or moremembers, and shall be responsible for organizing and leading the annual Band Picnic in the fall, and the annual Band Awards Banquet in the spring. This Committee shall submit their plans to the Executive Committee for approval. Section 11The Data Base Chairperson shall be responsible for the creationand/ or maintenance of a data base containing the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all Perry Band members, Grade 8 through 12, for the purpose of record keeping and address labels for booster correspondence. Section 12The Fruit Sale Committee shall consist of two or more members whoare responsible for organizing and leading the annual Fruit Sale in October. Section 13The Halftime Band Refreshments Committee shall consist of two ormore members who are responsible for obtaining and distributing refreshments to both the Perry Marching Band and the visiting marching band at home football games. Section 14The Directors of Instrumental Music at Perry Local Schools shall beex-officio members of all committees. Section 15Each committee chairperson shall submit a detailed written report ofthe activities of his or her committee to the President to be shared at the general meeting. Section 16Special committee shall be created by the Executive Committee asthe need arises. ARTICLE VSection 1The Treasurer shall submit an audited financial report at the close ofthe term and a copy of this report shall become a part of the Permanent record. ARTICLE VISection 1A majority of the members of the Executive Committee shall constitutea quorum. ARTICLE VIISection 1A nominating committee,consisting of three members, shall beselected by the Executive Committee at the regular March meeting of each year. Nominations shall be made from the floor after the report of the Nominating Committee. Section 2Officers are to be elected at the April meeting, for a term of 1 (one)year,starting June 1st. Section 3A majority vote of the members present and voting shall constitute anelection. ARTICLE VIIISection 1The rules contained in ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER,Revised,shallgovern this organization in all cases in which they do not conflict with the Constitution and Bylaws of this organization. ARTICLE IXSection 1The Constitution and Bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of themembers present and voting at any regular meeting. The amendments must have been presented at the preceding regular meeting of the club. ARTICLE XSection 1All funds realized from the Fall Fund Raiser Project shall be used solelyfor the purchase and upkeep of uniforms. ARTICLE XISection 1Perry Band Boosters will pay for flowers for the death of immediatefamily members of band personnel and family members. |
